About Us

The creators of Universaldraft.com – Richard Lines, Chris Kouffman and Simon Clancy came together by chance, but quickly found that each love the game of football.

Richard Lines is a former walk on at Penn State University who then transferred to the University of Oklahoma in the early 1990′s. He won’t say the year, suffice to say, it was before teams started wearing face masks. Richard produced a seasonal column for ThePhins.com entitled “The Keys to the Game”  in 2008 and 2009; highlighting the match-ups within each game played by the Miami Dolphins over that period. He is a contributor to the Draft Winds Series in the South Florida Sun Sentinel (Dave Hyde’s Blog) discussing the Miami Dolphins’ Draft for the past 3 years.

Simon Clancy is an award winning radio producer for the BBC in London. His passion for the NFL was fired a quarter of a century ago watching Dan Marino and the Marks Brothers. He loves Florida State, once helped organise a holiday for Bobby Bowden and endured an embarrassing Dick Van Dyke style accent assault from Michael Irvin. Simon writes for Sports Illustrated, the South Florida Sun Sentinel and has been a long time contributor to The Phins.com. He also writes for a number of magazines on soccer in his home country, England.”

Chris Kouffman works in equities research by day and has been writing articles for various football websites by night for nearly 10 years. He cut his teeth as an early life Miami Hurricanes fan watching Gino Toretta “blow it” in the Sugar Bowl, going on to regale his 6th grade classmates with his wild conspiracy theories of how the mafia paid off “that weak-armed loser” to throw the game (sorry Gino, he was 11 years old). The lack of football prowess at Georgetown University (his alma mater) has seen him adopting the South Florida Bulls as his college team of choice. But through it all, he has been an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins.
